I’ve started my next project. I’m writing a program  that is  focussed on strategies for setting and achieving goals.

It it being written using the LiveCode development system. The advantage of this system is that it can create Windows, Mac and iPad apps. It is a rapid development environment which means that applications are much faster to develop than using  other programming languages such as C or Visual basic. Having said that, no programming project is that quick, so the completion of the project is some way off yet. I’ll also be using LiveCode to create the next version of Life Manager Pro.

The program uses a goal strategy method that utilises four processes:

  1. Goals
  2. Objectives
  3. Strategies

Most self development experts I know recommend that you make goals. The peak time for doing this is at the new year.

Research has shown that 40 to 45% of American adult make one or more New Year resolutions each year.

  • A week later 75% of the resolutions are maintained.
  • Two weeks later 71% are maintained.
  • One month later 64% are maintained
  • 6 Months later 46% are maintained

How do you make sure that your goals are not amongst the over 50% that will not be achieved?

Life Manager 5 Released

Life Manager Pro

The new interface

Life Manager Pro 5 has now been released. This a major update.

Life Manager Pro has had a loyal following but users have commented that it can seem over complicated with the screen somewhat cluttered.  I have taken note of these comments and the result is the new version that is easier and more intuitive to use.

The other thing that has changed is the pricing structure. Life Manager Pro now comes in two flavours, lite and standard.

The lite version is freeware which means that it is free to download and use for as long as you like. This edition features actions and groups (or projects). It is based on the Getting Things Done method of productivity which allows you to focus on just the actions that you need to deal with at any one time. Read the rest of this entry
